How the AI works
Your key, your cost. Usually pennies.
Connect a key from Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or OpenRouter and every AI feature runs on it, grounded in your own Atlas and chapters. You pay your provider directly at their actual rates, and Gemini has a generous free tier if you want to try it for nothing. PullAtlas adds no meter and no markup; there is never an AI bill from us.
Your key covers the model. The workspace covers the rest: an Atlas for it to draw on, the search that finds the right characters and earlier chapters for the passage you’re on, and the continuity check on what comes back.

Is it really free?
Yes. The full writing, planning, Atlas, and continuity toolset is free, with AI on your own key. Paid plans add deeper story search, the revision suite, covers, richer exports, and more. The offline desktop app is coming soon for Pro and Studio.
Do I need my own AI key?
Only for AI features. A key from Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or OpenRouter works on every plan; Gemini has a generous free tier, so you can run AI at no cost. Everything else in PullAtlas needs no key at all.
What does AI cost?
Whatever your provider charges, billed by them directly; a typical writing session costs pennies. PullAtlas never meters, marks up, or bills for AI.
Do you train AI on my writing?
No. PullAtlas has no model of its own that your work could train, and never uses your writing to train or improve one. AI features run on the key you connect, so what happens to what you send is set by your provider’s policy; if that matters to you, choose one that offers a no-training commitment. The privacy policy sets out exactly what is sent, and to whom.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes, from the billing page. You keep access until the end of your paid period, and your work is always yours to export.
Is my writing private?
Yes. There are no public pages or profiles; your manuscripts are visible only to you and anyone you invite. Export a full backup or delete everything whenever you like.
