Continuity checks

The thing long stories get wrong: a detail that quietly contradicts an earlier one. Continuity checks catch it.

A continuity check reads a chapter against your Atlas and the story so far, and flags where the prose seems to contradict what you have established. It is powered by the AI, so it runs on your key, same as the rest of the AI.

What it checks

The kind of thing a reader will email you about: an eye colour that changed, a character in two places at once, a fact stated before it should be known, a timeline that doesn’t add up. It compares what the chapter says against the entries and states you have recorded.

Running a check

Run a check on a chapter and its findings collect in the Review view, each one describing the possible contradiction and pointing at where it occurs. Findings are yours to act on or dismiss; a check is a second pair of eyes, not a verdict.

Flags in the prose

Findings also surface where they matter most: in the editor itself. A flagged passage is marked in place, and hovering it shows the finding in a small card, so you can see the issue against the exact sentence that raised it without leaving the page.

Per scene

You can check a single scene instead of the whole chapter, useful while drafting one beat. A scene check flags only that scene; a chapter-level check refreshes everything. Findings are tagged with where they came from either way.
