Outline & progress

The manuscript at a glance, and the momentum behind it.

Two views help you keep the whole book in view: Outline for its shape, and Progress for its momentum.

The Outline

The Outline shows your chapters as an ordered list: titles, order, and a sense of length, all in one scannable place. It is the fastest way to see the arc of the manuscript without scrolling through the prose, and to jump straight to any chapter.

Ordering chapters

Add, rename, and reorder chapters from the Outline. Moving a chapter here moves it everywhere, so the Outline is where the running order of the book actually lives. It is also where an imported draft gets tidied into the chapters you intend.

Progress and targets

The Progress view turns the writing into numbers you can feel: word counts per chapter and across the book, and targets to write toward. It is the calm place to check momentum between sessions, so you can keep focus mode for the writing itself.
