Loose threads

The Loose threads lens in the Atlas collects two kinds of debt: placeholders you left in the prose, and entries you flagged as not fleshed out yet. Clicking a debt jumps to the sentence that incurred it. Nothing here nags; it is a list, and it empties the way debts should: by being paid.

Bracket placeholders

Writers already do this: mid-sentence, the harbour city has no name yet, so you type [name] or [check what colour her cloak was] and keep moving. PullAtlas treats any single-line bracketed span in your manuscript as a placeholder and lists it here, in story order, with its surrounding sentence. Fix the sentence and the debt clears itself; there is nothing to tick off, because the prose is the record.

If your prose keeps literal brackets on purpose, LitRPG system text like [Level Up], choose Not a placeholder once and that exact text stays out of the inbox for the whole project. Repeated bracket texts collapse into one row on their own.

Mark unresolved

Select any short phrase while writing and choose Mark unresolved from the selection menu: it wraps the selection in brackets, exactly as if you had typed them, and moves your cursor past the close bracket so you keep drafting. One undo removes it. Hand-typed and marked placeholders behave identically, because they are identical.

Unresolved entries

Sometimes the debt is bigger than a sentence: a character who walked on in chapter two and still has no motive. Open the entry and toggle Unresolved in its header. Flagged entries collect in this lens with a one-click Resolved when the debt is paid, and their cards carry a quiet marker in the meantime. The flag is bookkeeping for you; it never changes what the AI is told.

The name check

Check names, in the Atlas header, hunts for probable misspellings of your cast: capitalized words one typing error away from an entity name or alias, like Kestral for Kestrel. It is plain string work with no AI, so it is fast, predictable, and occasionally wrong in predictable ways. Each result shows its sentence, jumps on click, and offers Fix all, which runs through the same find-and-replace flow as smart rename, snapshots included. Ignore teaches the check per project.
