Export formats

The Export view produces a file from your manuscript. Your words are always yours to take, so the everyday formats are free on every plan; the higher tiers add polished, publish-ready and submission-ready output.

Choosing what to export

Export the whole manuscript, a selection of chapters, or a single one. For a serial, exporting individual chapters is essential; for a novel, a clean whole-manuscript file is what you want. A chapter picker keeps the choice tidy even in a long book.

Formats

• Markdown and plain text Free: portable, universal, and free on every plan.
• DOCX Free: a Word document with your formatting intact.
• EPUB Studio: a proper e-book, with your cover embedded.
• Story bible Free: your whole Atlas as one Markdown document, every entry with its facts, chapter ranges, and connections. Optionally cut off at a chapter, so a beta reader who is mid-story gets a bible with no spoilers past where they stand.
• Story bible (vault) Free: the same Atlas as a folder of markdown notes, one per entry, with connections as [[wikilinks]]. Open it as an Obsidian vault, or re-import it into PullAtlas and get your entries and connections back. Your bible arrives from open formats and leaves as one.

Presentation and submission

The paid tiers are about presentation, not just getting the words out. On Pro, DOCX export gains a polished manuscript presentation. Studio adds EPUB and the standard manuscript format Studio (Shunn), the layout agents and editors expect for submissions: title page, running header, double-spaced, the lot.
