Release planning

Getting the story to readers is its own job. The Release view is built for it.

The Release view is where a finished chapter becomes a published one. What it shows depends on your project’s format, because a serial and a novel reach readers very differently.

Serials and books

For a serial, release planning is per chapter: each installment has its own slot in the schedule. For a novel or novella, the book releases as a single unit, so planning treats it as one launch rather than a stream.

Tracking status

Each release moves through clear stages, from planned and drafting, through ready and scheduled, to posted, so you always know what is out, what is queued, and what still needs work. It is a light production board for the publishing side of writing.

Platforms and formatting

Different destinations want different formatting. Release planning lets you set formatting rules per platform, so preparing the same chapter for two places doesn’t mean reformatting it twice by hand. When it is time to produce the file itself, that is Export.
