The Reader

Editing and reading are different acts. Toolbars, cursors, and word counts help you write and get in the way when you want to read. The Reader is a Pro feature that clears all of it away and presents your manuscript as one continuous, calm page.

The reading room

The Reader takes over the full surface and flows chapter into chapter on a comfortable measure, so you read your book as a book rather than a stack of editor panes. It is the right place for a proof read, or simply to feel how the whole thing lands.

Size and width

The Reader follows the light or dark theme you have set for the app, so it matches the room you are already working in. What you set here is the reading itself: step the text size up or down, and cycle the column between narrow, normal, and wide, so the page sits exactly right for your eyes.

Resume where you stopped

The Reader remembers where you were, so you can close it and come back to the same place in a long manuscript without hunting for your spot. What it shows is always the clean, resolved prose, any pending tracked changes read as accepted here.
