Once a project is shared, everyone in it works on the same living manuscript. Edits sync in real time, so collaboration feels like being in the same document, not emailing drafts back and forth.

When two people edit a shared chapter, their changes merge as they type. There is no “who has the latest version” problem and no manual saving to coordinate; the chapter is always current for everyone in it.

Presence

You can see who else is in the project, so you know when a co-author is around and roughly where they are working. It keeps a shared session from feeling like writing into the dark.

Comments

Comments come into their own with a collaborator: leave a note on a passage, raise a question, or flag something for the other person without touching the prose. They are the calm channel for the back-and-forth of editing together.
